Dylan Boys

Dylan Boys grew up in the small coastal town of Devonport, Tasmania, where live music was part of everyday life. Picking up a guitar at the age of four, playing his first gig at eight years old, and more recently playing on the main stage at Tasmania's biggest festival "Party in the Paddock". it's been a lifetime committed to music - late nights, small pubs, and songs written along the way.

Somewhere in between Country, Rock and Pop, his sound doesn’t sit neatly inside any of those genres. There’s the storytelling and roots you’d expect from country music, but also the energy of a live band and a modern edge that comes from writing about real moments as they happen. Rather than trying to define it too tightly, Dylan’s focus has always been simple: Make something real and let the rest take care of itself.

His writing draws from the kinds of moments most people recognise — heartbreak, good nights with good people, small-town memories, and keeping things uncomplicated. There’s no attempt to reinvent the wheel, just a fresh, current take on music built around story, feel, and connection.

In recent years, Dylan has shared the stage with artists including Reece Mastin, Kingswood, Thirsty Merc and Shannon Noll, and reached the Top 50 on the 2023 season of Australian Idol. He’s become a familiar name on Tasmanian festival line-ups and support slots, building a reputation for energetic live shows, leaving the crowd wanting to scream his songs right back at him. 

On stage, he’s backed by a five-piece band featuring some of Tasmania’s strongest players — Tom Abblitt (drums), Cody Gunton (keys), Cam Sherriff (bass), and Simon McNeair (lead guitar). Together they’re focused on touring, headline shows, and new original releases as they continue building momentum across Tasmania and beyond.

Dylan Boys makes music that feels familiar without sitting neatly in one lane. Country might be the closest reference point, but the sound is still taking shape — influenced by the road, the crowd in front of him, and whatever story needs to be told next.
